Organization Overview

The Paddy Marketing Board (PMB) is a government institution functioning under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation. The Board plays a key role in maintaining food security, supporting paddy farmers, stabilizing paddy prices, and facilitating the efficient marketing and storage of paddy across Sri Lanka.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• A degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

AND

• A postgraduate degree at Master of Arts (MA) or Master of Science (MSc) level obtained from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of experience in a managerial-level position in a Government Ministry, Government Corporation, Board, Statutory Institution, or reputed private sector organization.
• Out of the 18 years of experience, at least 5 years should have been obtained after acquiring the postgraduate qualification.

Other Qualifications

• Good command of English language.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in office applications.
• Knowledge in Administration, Management, Accountancy, Sales Promotion, and Publicity will be considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction to the Paddy Marketing Board.
• Develop and implement organizational policies, plans, and operational strategies.
• Ensure efficient administration and management of organizational resources.
• Lead institutional development initiatives and performance improvement programs.
• Coordinate with government agencies, stakeholders, and industry partners.
• Oversee financial management, operational efficiency, and compliance activities.
• Promote organizational growth and achievement of strategic objectives.
• Ensure effective implementation of government policies related to paddy marketing and food security.
