The Plantation Human Development Trust (PHDT) is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Project Officer – Health to support health and social welfare initiatives within Sri Lanka’s plantation sector. The position involves planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating health-related development programs while working closely with local health authorities and estate communities.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess one of the following:

• Medical Degree (Local or Foreign), or
• Degree/Diploma in:
  • Health Promotion
  • Nutrition
  • Public Health

Qualifications should be obtained from a recognized university or the Ministry of Health Training Institute.

Experience Requirements

• Preferably 3 years of experience in:
  • Healthcare
  • Project Management
  • Social Development Activities

Additional Advantages

• Ability to communicate in:
  • Sinhala
  • English
  • Tamil
• Willingness and ability to visit plantation estates.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and organize health and social welfare programs.
• Coordinate with local health authorities and relevant stakeholders.
• Implement and monitor healthcare initiatives within plantation communities.
• Conduct evaluations of health and welfare projects.
• Facilitate collaboration between health agencies and estate management.
• Provide training to social welfare and estate staff.
