Western Provincial Road Passenger Transport Authority operates under the Ministry of Provincial Roads, Transport, Co-operative Development and Trade, Housing and Construction, Estate Infrastructure, Industries and Rural Development – Western Province.

The Authority is responsible for regulating and improving road passenger transport services while ensuring efficient and sustainable transportation systems within the Western Province of Sri Lanka.

Qualifications & Experience

External Applicants

Applicants should possess one of the following qualifications:

Option 1

• A Bachelor’s Degree recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in:
  • Business
  • Public Administration
  • Accountancy
  • Commerce
  • Management

OR

Option 2

• ICASL Intermediate Certificate
• Licentiate II Certificate
• CIMA qualification
• ACCA Part Three (Part III) Certificate

OR

Option 3

• Higher National Diploma in Accountancy (HNDA) awarded by the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education (SLIATE)

OR

• A Degree recognized by the UGC which includes Accountancy as a subject

AND

• Minimum three (03) years of post-qualification experience in Accountancy or Auditing within a Government Corporation, Board, or reputed commercial establishment

Internal Applicants

Applicants should possess:

• Minimum five (05) years of satisfactory service experience in a Grade One post under the Junior Management Service Category in:
  • Accounts
  • Audit Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Handle accounting and financial management operations
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and budgets
• Coordinate auditing and financial compliance activities
• Monitor institutional expenditures and revenue management
• Maintain accounting records and financial documentation
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies
• Support management decision-making through financial analysis
• Assist in budget planning and resource allocation

• Strong accounting and financial management knowledge
• Familiarity with auditing procedures and financial regulations
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in accounting systems and reporting
