The organization is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Warehouse Manager for its PALAM/A Project operations in Nuwara Eliya.
Job Role
The Warehouse Manager will oversee daily warehouse operations and supervise a small warehouse team. The role includes receiving, storing, and dispatching food commodities while ensuring compliance with programme requirements and commodity management best practices.
The selected candidate will also coordinate transportation through third-party vendors and ensure accurate stock, loss, and commodity reporting according to donor and organizational policies.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations including:
- Receiving
- Storing
- Dispatching food commodities
- Ensure warehouse safety and proper food storage conditions
- Coordinate with external service providers and conduct regular inspections
- Oversee accurate stock management including:
- Physical stock counts
- FIFO storage practices
- Pest control
- Expiry monitoring
- Data entry into warehouse systems
- Maintain accurate stock movement records and prepare reports
- Manage waybills and packing lists for outbound consignments
- Supervise warehouse staff and conduct performance evaluations
- Ensure compliance with:
- Safety standards
- Security procedures
- Child safeguarding policies
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in warehouse and supply chain operations
- Knowledge of commodity management systems
- Strong inventory control and reporting skills
- Team supervision and coordination abilities
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Experience working with NGOs or donor-funded projects is an advantage
