Job Description

The Mechanical Superintendent will be responsible for supervising mechanical operations, managing technical teams, and ensuring the effective maintenance and utilization of machinery and equipment. The role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to coordinate engineering activities within the authority.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical operations and maintenance of machinery
• Manage and guide technical staff and field teams
• Ensure proper functioning and servicing of heavy equipment
• Coordinate engineering tasks and project activities
• Monitor safety standards and compliance procedures
• Prepare technical reports and operational updates

Requirements

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Science) from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)

Experience

• Minimum 01 year of work experience in a government department, corporation, or recognized private sector institution after obtaining the degree

Internal Applicants

• Minimum 06 years of satisfactory service experience in the relevant field with a National Diploma in Technology (NDT) or equivalent qualification
• Experience as a Technical Assistant at Grade I in the Management Assistant (Technical) Service category

Age Limit

• Between 22 – 45 years (maximum age limit does not apply to internal candidates)

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Scale: JM 1-2-2025
  72,650 – 10×2,040 – 122,970 + allowances
• Additional Benefits:
  • Cost of Living allowance
  • Attendance allowance
  • Overtime allowances
