Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for handling engineering operations related to machinery, equipment maintenance, and technical support within the authority. The role includes planning, supervising, and executing mechanical engineering tasks to ensure efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical engineering operations and maintenance activities
• Provide technical guidance on machinery and equipment usage
• Assist in planning and implementation of engineering projects
• Ensure proper maintenance and repair of heavy machinery
• Monitor operational efficiency and safety standards
• Prepare technical reports and documentation

Requirements

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Science) from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)

Experience

• Minimum 03 years of experience in the field of mechanical engineering after obtaining the degree
  OR
• Associate Membership of the Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL)

Internal Applicants

• Minimum 05 years of satisfactory service in the Junior Manager Category, Grade I, relevant to the subject area

Age Limit

• Between 22 – 45 years (maximum age limit does not apply to internal candidates)

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Scale: JM 1-3-2025
  96,650 – 10×2,480 – 153,450 – 173,200 + allowances
• Additional Benefits:
