Job Description

The Managing Director will be responsible for leading and managing the operations of the North Western Provincial Machinery & Equipment Authority. The role involves strategic planning, administrative leadership, and ensuring efficient functioning of machinery and equipment services within the province.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization
• Oversee engineering, operational, and administrative functions
• Ensure efficient utilization and maintenance of machinery and equipment
• Manage staff and organizational performance
• Implement government policies and development initiatives
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and institutional standards

Requirements

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)
• Associate Membership of the Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka

Experience

• Minimum 15 years of engineering experience
• Proven experience in a managerial-level position in a government or recognized private sector institution

Internal Applicants

• Minimum 5 years of satisfactory service at Grade I in the relevant subject field within the Managerial Service Category

Age Limit

• Between 40 – 55 years (maximum age limit does not apply to internal candidates)

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Scale: HM 1-1-2025
  140,640 – 15×4,100 – 202,140 + allowances
