Job Description

The Relationship Officer will play a key role in managing and expanding customer portfolios by delivering personalized banking solutions and maintaining strong client relationships. The role involves identifying business opportunities, monitoring portfolio performance, supporting business development activities, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations and service standards.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, sound banking knowledge, and experience in branch banking operations with exposure to credit management.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to grow the customer portfolio through new client acquisition and relationship expansion
• Provide personalized financial advice and recommend suitable banking products and services
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through efficient service delivery
• Monitor portfolio performance, manage associated risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline banking operations and resolve customer issues
• Participate in branch business development and market expansion activities
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Stay updated on market trends and banking industry developments
• Support branch growth initiatives and sales targets

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Part or full professional qualification acceptable to the bank
• Approximately 6 years of relevant experience in branch banking
• Mandatory exposure to credit operations and lending activities
• Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong negotiation and relationship management abilities
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
• Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a target-driven and fast-paced banking environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in portfolio management and client relationship development will be an added advantage
• Exposure to SME or retail banking operations is preferred
