Qualifications & Experience

Candidates should ideally possess:

• Full membership in a recognized professional accounting body such as CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Finance, Accounting or Auditing.
• Prior experience in the Banking or Financial Services sector or an audited firm is highly advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of financial reporting and Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (SLFRS/LKAS).
• Strong knowledge of Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) frameworks.
• Hands-on audit experience.
• Strong technical and analytical capabilities.
• High numerical literacy and meticulous attention to detail.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Familiarity with core banking systems and ERP solutions.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Leading the end-to-end preparation and publication of the Bank’s Annual Report.
• Managing interim financial statements and mandatory regulatory filings for the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
• Driving the delivery of high-precision Management Information System (MIS) reporting.
• Overseeing general ledger reconciliations and periodic performance insights.
• Managing SLFRS computations and related financial reporting requirements.
• Strengthening the Bank’s governance structure through robust internal controls.
• Updating policy and process manuals and leading continuous process improvements.
• Coordinating with internal and external auditors.
• Ensuring prompt resolution of audit findings and maintaining strong compliance standards.
• Partnering with Core Banking initiatives and bank-wide IT/System implementation projects.
• Supporting the optimization of financial operations through technology and process improvements.
• Providing oversight on tax compliances and statutory tax planning in accordance with local legislation.
• Providing strategic direction and daily oversight to ensure the smooth, compliant and efficient performance of the Finance Department.
• Supporting key transformation initiatives within the Finance function.
