Job Overview

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for Driver (Contract) vacancies at depots across all regions of Sri Lanka.

Priority will be given to applicants from the respective local areas. The SLTB operates 107 depots island-wide and employs more than 25,000 employees.

Position: Driver (Contract)
Number of Vacancies: 1,037
Monthly Basic Contract Allowance: Rs. 40,834/-

Regions: All 12 regions island-wide

Educational & Other Qualifications

• G.C.E. (O/L) with 6 subjects and 2 credit passes, obtained in not more than two sittings.
• Age between 21 and 45 years.
• Possess a valid heavy vehicle driving licence with more than 3 years of validity/experience.
• Minimum weight of 45 kg.
• Minimum height of 5 feet 3 inches.
• Be in good health.
• Experience as a Heavy Passenger Vehicle Driver from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.

Salary & Benefits

Selected candidates will receive:

• Monthly Basic Contract Allowance – Rs. 40,834/-
• Cost of Living Allowance – Rs. 17,800/-
• Overtime allowances
• Incentive allowances
• Employee EPF contribution – 8%
• Employer EPF contribution – 12%
• Employer ETF contribution – 3%
• Travel pass for travel within 30 km to and from the workplace.

Selection Process

Recruitment will be based on:

• Interview
• Practical test
• Results of the training programme conducted according to SLTB procedures.

Duty assignments will be on a roster basis after recruitment. Transfers will not be entertained after appointment.

6. The School Leaving Certificate (Student Record) must be produced at the interview.
7. Incomplete applications or applications that do not follow the prescribed format will be rejected.
