Job Overview

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for Conductor (Contract) vacancies at depots across all regions of Sri Lanka. Priority will be given to applicants from the respective local areas.

Monthly Basic Contract Allowance: Rs. 40,008/-

Regions: All 12 regions island-wide

Educational & Other Qualifications

• G.C.E. (O/L) with 6 subjects, including Mathematics and Mother Tongue.
• Must have 2 credit passes, obtained in not more than two sittings.
• Age between 18 and 45 years.
• Minimum weight of 41 kg.
• Minimum height of 5 feet.
• Be in good health.

• Colombo
• Gampaha
• Kalutara
• Kandy
• Nuwara Eliya
• Uva
• Ruhuna
• Sabaragamuwa
• Wayamba
• Rajarata
• Northern
• Eastern

Salary & Benefits

Selected candidates will receive:

• Basic Contract Allowance: Rs. 40,008/-
• Cost of Living Allowance: Rs. 17,800/-
• Overtime allowances
• Incentive allowances
• Employee EPF contribution – 8%
• Employer EPF contribution – 12%
• Employer ETF contribution – 3%
• Travel pass for travel within 30 km to and from the workplace.

Selection Process

Recruitment will be based on:

• Interview
• Practical test
• Results of the training programme according to SLTB procedures.

Duty assignment will be on a roster basis after recruitment. Transfers will not be entertained after appointment.

6. The School Leaving Certificate (Student Record) must be produced at the interview.
7. Incomplete applications or applications not following the prescribed format will be rejected.
