🎯 Job Overview

This role focuses on scientific leadership, nuclear safety, and regulatory services, ensuring safe and effective use of nuclear technology in Sri Lanka.

🧪 Key Responsibilities

🔹 General Responsibilities

• Support Director General & Board in planning and execution
• Prepare reports, research papers, and policy documents
• Implement board decisions and strategic projects
• Engage with stakeholders in science & technology
• Supervise staff and lead division operations
• Participate in national and international scientific programs
• Ensure compliance with government regulations
• Represent the organization in meetings and legal matters

☢️ Division-Specific Responsibilities

• Promote peaceful use of nuclear technology
• Provide radiation protection services nationwide
• Manage radiological emergency preparedness systems
• Oversee radioactive waste management & storage
• Handle radiation monitoring and calibration services
• Ensure nuclear security and safety systems
• Maintain nuclear instrumentation & IT systems
• Lead public awareness, training & education programs
• Develop technical services and business opportunities

🎓 Qualifications & Requirements

✅ External Candidates

• BSc Degree in:
  Physics / Electronics / Mechatronics / Food Science 🎓
• PLUS Postgraduate Degree (Master’s) in Nuclear Science or related field
  OR Chartered professional membership
• Minimum 15 years managerial experience

✅ Internal Candidates

• Same qualifications as above OR
• Minimum 5 years in Academic Research Category (AR-2)

• Strong leadership and scientific expertise
• Excellent analytical & decision-making skills
• Physically & mentally fit

🎂 Age Limit

• 35 – 55 years
• No upper age limit for internal candidates

💰 Salary & Benefits

• Salary Scale: Rs. 152,500 – 214,000 💰
• Initial Salary (2026): Rs. 133,028/month
• Government allowances included
• EPF & ETF benefits
• Permanent senior management position
