Organization Overview

Industrial Technology Institute (ITI), successor to the former CISIR, is a statutory board functioning under the Ministry of Science and Technology. The institute promotes industrial development in Sri Lanka through:

• Research & Development
• Consultancy Services
• Technical Services
• Contract Research
• Industrial Training

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should satisfy either of the following qualification pathways:

Option 1

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Engineering (4 years) with 1st Class or 2nd Class Division recognized by the UGC, Sri Lanka
  AND
• PhD in a relevant field of specialization
  AND
• Minimum 20 years of experience after the first degree in a reputed organization, including:
  • 8 years at senior management level
  • 5 years post-PhD experience
  • Proven record in Research & Development, publications, patents, technology development, and technology transfer

Option 2

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (4 years) with 1st or 2nd Class recognized by the UGC
  AND
• Chartered Membership of a professional body recognized by the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka
  AND
• Minimum 20 years of experience after the first degree, including:
  • 8 years at senior management level
  • 5 years post-chartered experience
  • Proven R&D and technology transfer achievements

Age Limit

• Applicants should be at least 40 years old
• The selected Director General/CEO will hold office for a term of 5 years or until reaching 60 years of age, whichever occurs earlier

Salary Scale

HM 2-3 Salary Scale

• Rs. 173,000 – 12 x 4,850 – 231,200/- (w.e.f. 01.01.2027)
• Initial Salary Step: Rs. 150,325/- plus government-approved allowances
