Position Details
Position: Demi Chef De Partie
Department: Emirates Lounge
Reporting To: Head of Production
Work Location: Airline Centre, Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake, Gampaha District, Sri Lanka
The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting food production operations, maintaining quality standards, ensuring efficient kitchen operations, and assisting in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for lounge guests and airline passengers.

Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should meet one of the following qualification requirements:
- Six passes at G.C.E. (O/L), including passes for English and Mathematics, together with a full or part professional qualification in the relevant culinary field and a minimum of 5 years of culinary experience in a recognized star-class hotel.
OR
- Passed G.C.E. (A/L) together with a full or part professional qualification in the relevant culinary field and a minimum of 5 years of culinary experience in a recognized star-class hotel.
Additional advantages include:

- Understanding of ISO and food costing practices.
- Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership and team coordination abilities.

- Methodical and quality-focused approach to work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare snacks and main meals for delayed flights, public restaurants, transit lounges, and other catering operations.
- Cook menu items in collaboration with kitchen staff.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, preparation, and production.
- Support food service operations when required.
- Raise kitchen orders for raw materials, including meat, fish, and vegetables, according to operational requirements.
- Monitor food costs and minimize wastage.
- Report workplace hazards and maintenance requirements to relevant departments.
- Inspect and approve the quality and freshness of raw materials.
- Coordinate with Senior Service Supervisors to ensure smooth collaboration between production and service teams.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and quality assurance procedures.
