Job Description

Medihelp Hospitals is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and proactive Corporate Legal Officer to support the organization’s legal and compliance framework. The selected candidate will handle corporate legal agreements, regulatory compliance, risk assessments, and legal advisory responsibilities while supporting business expansion and operational governance.

This role requires strong legal knowledge, contract management expertise, and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders, external legal counsel, and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage corporate legal agreements and contracts
• Provide legal oversight for agreements related to hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies, and business partners
• Conduct legal reviews and risk assessments for new and existing contracts
• Manage legal aspects of hospital acquisitions, partnerships, and expansion projects
• Oversee the contract lifecycle including renewals, amendments, and terminations
• Handle litigation matters, disputes, and customer-related legal issues
• Liaise with external legal counsel, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders
• Ensure timely renewal and compliance of licenses, registrations, and statutory requirements
• Provide legal support on employee-related matters in collaboration with HR
• Identify legal risks and implement preventive and corrective measures
• Support operational and administrative functions with sound legal governance

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent qualification
• Qualification as an Attorney-at-Law will be a distinct advantage
• Must possess a Notarial License to practice in both English and Sinhala
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a corporate legal role, preferably within the healthcare sector
• Strong expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and legal compliance
• Sound knowledge of Sri Lankan legal and regulatory frameworks
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced multi-entity environment
