Chartered Institute of Taxation of Sri Lanka is inviting applications for the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for immediate placement. The institute is the national statutory body for tax professionals in Sri Lanka and a premier institution for taxation education.

Chief Operating Officer (COO)

📍 Location: Havelock Road, Colombo 6

Key Responsibilities

Selected candidates will be responsible for:

• Providing strategic leadership and overall management of the institute
• Overseeing academic, administrative, and financial operations
• Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and governance requirements
• Developing initiatives for CPD, membership growth, and professional excellence
• Representing the institute with professional bodies, government entities, and stakeholders
• Leading and developing staff to foster a collaborative and high-performance culture
• Driving national and international strategic expansion initiatives

Required Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess either:

• Full qualification from a recognized professional body such as:
  • FCIT
  • CA Sri Lanka
  • CIMA
  • ACCA
  • Or equivalent

OR

• Proven senior leadership experience in positions such as:
  • CEO
  • COO
  • Director
  • Head of a professional or educational institution
  • Government department leadership roles

Additionally, candidates should have:

• Strong knowledge of taxation, finance, governance, and professional education standards
• Excellent strategic, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills
• High integrity, vision, and leadership capabilities

Important Note

• The role requires compulsory work on Saturdays and Sundays
• 1.5 days of weekday leave will be provided in lieu
