Qualifications & Experience

• Full or part qualification in Banking from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL).
• A Bachelor’s Degree will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of work experience in a commercial bank.
• Minimum 4 years of experience serving as a Branch Manager with demonstrated leadership exposure.
• Hands-on experience in lending and growing a loan portfolio is essential.
• Knowledge of both Retail and SME Banking.
• Experience covering Consumer Banking Operations and Credit Evaluation.
• Adequate exposure to Credit Administration.
• Sound communication skills and a flair for public relations.
• Demonstrated leadership ability within a performance-driven environment.
• Strong service-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for managing and operating the branch as a profit centre while adhering to established norms and operational guidelines.
• Develop and execute integrated sales, relationship management, deposit mobilization, and credit strategies aligned with the Area Business Plan.
• Drive continuous growth of the branch’s SME lending portfolio.
• Ensure achievement of budgeted lending targets, with a focus on mid-sized and large-sized SME businesses.
• Set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for branch staff and regularly review their performance.
• Foster a collaborative environment where branch staff work together to achieve business goals.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities to support portfolio growth.
• Guide the team in deepening customer relationships and increasing client acquisition and retention.
• Develop strong relationships with the local business community.
• Participate in community events and functions to strengthen the bank’s presence and business relationships.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
• Ensure branch activities are conducted in accordance with applicable banking policies and procedures.
