Job Description

The Assistant Swimming Coach will support the Head Coach in organizing and conducting structured swimming coaching sessions for school-age students. The role includes maintaining student discipline, ensuring water safety, assisting with competition preparation, and promoting teamwork and sportsmanship among students.

The ideal candidate should possess recognized swimming coaching qualifications, strong communication skills, and a passion for student sports development.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach during swimming training sessions and swim programs
• Ensure safe and structured swimming coaching sessions
• Supervise students and maintain discipline and safety standards at all times
• Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and student development
• Support preparations for inter-school swimming competitions and events
• Assist in maintaining swimming training schedules and coaching plans
• Encourage proper swimming techniques and water safety awareness
• Work collaboratively with school sports staff and coaching teams
• Participate in early morning training sessions when required

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Recognized Swimming Coaching Qualification (SLASU / NISS or equivalent)
• Valid Life Saving / Lifeguard Certification
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
• Experience in coaching or assisting school-age swimmers
• Good knowledge of swimming strokes and basic training techniques
• Strong focus on water safety and student supervision
• Ability to work effectively with female students within a school environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Energetic, disciplined, and team-oriented personality

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in school swimming coaching will be an added advantage
• Experience preparing students for competitions and aquatic events is preferred
