Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the post of Engineer – Automobile (Grade A-6) on a permanent basis. The selected candidate will be responsible for vehicle fleet maintenance, workshop supervision, diagnostics, and maintenance management within the petroleum storage and transport sector.

Organization Overview

Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) operates petroleum storage and distribution facilities island-wide and provides services to CPC, Lanka IOC, Sinopec Sri Lanka, RM Parks, and other downstream petroleum sector partners.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should satisfy one of the following qualification pathways:

Option 1

• B.Sc. Degree in a relevant Engineering field recognized by the UGC
• Minimum 3 years of relevant post-qualifying experience in:
  • Government sector
  • Semi-government sector
  • Reputed private organization

Option 2

• NVQ Level 6 Certificate in the relevant field from a TVEC-approved technical/vocational institute
• Minimum 6 years of relevant post-qualifying experience

Option 3

• NVQ Level 5 Certificate in the relevant field from a TVEC-approved technical/vocational institute
• Minimum 8 years of relevant post-qualifying experience

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will handle:

• Vehicle fleet maintenance systems and operations
• Preventive and predictive maintenance for heavy vehicles and industrial machinery
• Vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Workshop operations and staff supervision
• Spare parts and inventory management
• Occupational health and safety compliance

Technical Competencies

Applicants should possess knowledge in:

• Diesel and petrol engine systems
• Hydraulic, pneumatic, and automotive electrical systems
• Technical report preparation
• Repair estimates and maintenance evaluations
• Technical specifications and tender documentation

Additional skills:

• MS Office proficiency
• ERP/Maintenance management software knowledge
• Reporting and data analysis skills

Other Requirements

• Good communication and leadership skills
• Ability to supervise technicians and workshop staff
• Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License
• Knowledge of government procurement procedures will be an added advantage

Age Limit

• Applicants should be below 45 years of age

Salary & Benefits

Salary Scale

Rs. 185,895 – 5 x 2,295 : 10 x 3,330 – 230,670
