Required Qualifications

External Candidates

Applicants should satisfy one of the following qualifications:

Option 1

• A Bachelor’s Degree recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka in:
  • Information Technology
  • Information & Communication Technology
  • Management & Information Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Computer Science & Engineering
  • Computing & Information Systems
  • Computing
  • Electronics and IT
  • Or any other relevant field related to the subject area of the post

Option 2

• Certificate of proficiency not below NVQ Level 7 issued by a Technical/Vocational training institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission in a relevant field

Option 3

• Certificate of proficiency not below NVQ Level 6 issued by a Technical/Vocational training institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission in a relevant field

AND

• Minimum 05 years post-qualifying experience in a relevant field in a Corporation, Board, or reputed statutory institution

Option 4

• Certificate of proficiency not below NVQ Level 5 issued by a Technical/Vocational training institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission in a relevant field

AND

• Minimum 10 years post-qualifying experience in a relevant field in a Corporation, Board, or reputed statutory institution.

Internal Candidates

Applicants should either:

• Possess the qualifications required for external candidates

OR

• Have completed minimum 5 years satisfactory service in the Management Assistant (Technological) MA 2-2 Grade II category relevant to the subject area.

Selection Method

Selection will be based on:

• Written Competitive Examination and/or
• Structured Interview

Examination Subjects

• English Language Proficiency
• Aptitude Test
• Subject knowledge relevant to the post
• Computer Literacy

Salary Scale

• Salary Scale:
  • LKR 74,010 – 124,330

Implementation as per Management Services Circular 01/2025:

• 2026 Salary: LKR 79,987
• 2027 Salary: LKR 89,650

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 22 years
• Maximum Age: 45 years
• Upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.
