Job Overview

National Institute of Education is inviting applications for the post of Lab Assistant. The institute is seeking technically skilled individuals to support laboratory operations, equipment handling, and practical academic activities.

Salary Scale

• Monthly Salary: Rs. 50,540 – 90,270/-
• Salary will be paid according to Schedule II of Management Services Circular 01/2025.

Age Limit

• Applicants should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should fulfill either of the following requirements:

Option 1

• Certificate of Proficiency of the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 5 or equivalent qualification in a relevant field issued by a Technical/Vocational Training Institution recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).

Option 2

• In situations where NVQ Level 5 courses are unavailable, applicants should possess:
  • Certificate of Proficiency not below NVQ Level 4 in the relevant field issued by a TVEC-recognized institution
  • Minimum 10 years of post-qualifying experience in the relevant field in the government sector, government corporations, statutory institutions, boards, or reputed private institutions.

Key Responsibilities

Selected candidates will support:

• Laboratory operations and maintenance
• Preparation and handling of laboratory equipment and materials
• Assisting practical sessions and academic activities
• Maintaining laboratory records and documentation
• Ensuring laboratory safety and cleanliness

Additional Conditions

• Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka
