Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Assisting the CEO/GM in implementing strategic and operational plans
• Providing leadership and oversight for:
  • Branch operations
  • Service delivery
  • Support services
  • Information Technology
• Supervising Deputy General Managers, Assistant General Managers, and Department Heads
• Driving operational efficiency through:
  • Process improvements
  • Standardization
  • Best practices
• Leading digital transformation and technology integration initiatives
• Ensuring compliance with:
  • Regulatory requirements
  • Internal policies
  • Risk management frameworks
• Monitoring operational performance, resource utilization, and budgets
• Engaging with regulators, auditors, and key stakeholders
• Supporting succession planning and senior management development
• Managing crisis response operations and business continuity frameworks

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Sri Lankan citizenship
• Bachelor’s Degree recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka
• Master’s Degree from a recognized institution
• Professional qualifications such as:
  • IBSL
  • CIB-UK
  • CA Sri Lanka
  • CIMA-UK
  • CFA-USA
• Minimum 15 years of experience in banking/financial institutions
• Extensive senior management experience
• Proven experience in:
  • Banking operations
  • Branch management
  • Credit administration
  • Risk management
  • Service delivery
• Experience leading large operational teams
• Strong strategic leadership and decision-making abilities
• Expertise in:
  • Operational efficiency
  • Process improvement
  • Digital transformation
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Preferably below 57 years of age at the closing date
