Role Summary

The selected candidate will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and oversee the organization’s finance and accounting functions while ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

The role also involves coordination with:

• Internal departments
• External auditors
• Regulatory authorities

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Overseeing the overall finance function of the company
• Managing operational and financial aspects of finance operations
• Analyzing financial statements and identifying key trends and variances
• Preparing Board Papers and financial presentations for the Board
• Ensuring timely submission of:
  • Regulatory reports
  • MIS reports
  • Financial reporting requirements
• Establishing strong financial controls and organizational financial goals
• Managing financial reporting in compliance with:
  • Accounting standards
  • Regulatory requirements
• Managing the annual budgeting process and presenting budgets to the Board
• Developing and monitoring accounting policies and procedures
• Reviewing monthly operating reports for:
  • Accuracy
  • Completeness
  • Budget variances
• Managing annual statutory audits
• Liaising with:
  • Tax authorities
  • Regulatory authorities
  • External auditors
• Preparing management reports and financial analysis for decision-making
• Strengthening internal controls and recommending process improvements
• Supervising, guiding, and motivating the finance team

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Accounting
  • Finance
• Fully qualified professional certification in:
  • CA
  • ACCA
  • CIMA
• Minimum 11 years of experience in accounting or finance
• Minimum 4 years of managerial-level experience
• Experience within financial institutions will be an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Accounting standards
  • Financial reporting
  • Audit processes
• Proficiency in:
  • Accounting software
  • Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities
