Job Description

The Branch Manager will oversee the overall management and operational performance of the Anuradhapura branch. The role requires a dynamic leader capable of achieving business targets, managing branch staff, expanding lending portfolios, and building strong relationships with customers and the local business community.

The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership abilities, sound banking knowledge, and hands-on experience in branch operations and SME banking.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and operate the branch as a profit center while adhering to operational guidelines and banking standards
• Develop and execute integrated sales, deposit mobilization, and credit strategies
• Drive continuous growth of the SME lending portfolio and achieve lending targets
• Set KPIs for branch staff and monitor performance to achieve business objectives
• Identify cross-selling opportunities and strengthen customer acquisition and retention
• Build strong relationships with the local business community and participate in community engagement activities
• Ensure high standards of customer service and operational efficiency
• Guide and motivate branch staff to maintain a performance-driven culture
• Monitor branch financial performance and implement business growth initiatives
• Maintain compliance with banking regulations and internal policies

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial banking
• Minimum 4 years of experience serving as a Branch Manager with leadership exposure
• Full or part qualification in Banking at IBSL
• Strong communication and public relations skills
• Hands-on experience in lending and loan portfolio growth
• Strong knowledge of Retail and SME banking operations
• Knowledge of consumer banking operations and credit evaluation
• Ability to work in a performance-driven environment
• Excellent leadership, team management, and decision-making skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional academic or professional banking qualifications will be considered an added advantage
• Experience in SME business development and branch profitability management will be highly preferred
