Job Description

V.V. Karunaratne & Company, a well-established construction and logistics company operating in Sri Lanka since 1962, is looking for a qualified Tax & Finance Executive for immediate appointment.

The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing and submitting statutory tax returns, maintaining accurate financial records, liaising with tax authorities, and ensuring compliance with Sri Lankan tax regulations. The role also involves working closely with auditors, consultants, and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit statutory tax returns (Income Tax, VAT, SSCL, WHT, etc.)
• Reconcile company tax returns with Inland Revenue Department (IRD) assessments
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to tax filings
• Represent the company in discussions with IRD on tax matters
• Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities
• Submit monthly reports via Central Bank portal
• Provide tax planning and advisory support

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR part qualification in CA, CIMA, CMA, ACCA, or CPA
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role OR at least 3 years in an audit or tax firm
• Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan tax regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience in construction sector is an added advantage
