Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following qualification pathways for external recruitment.

Pathway 1: Bachelor’s Degree

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Dairy Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary Science or another equivalent degree relevant to the position.
• The degree must be recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka.

Pathway 2: NVQ Level 7

• A certificate of proficiency in Agriculture, Livestock or Animal Husbandry at NVQ Level 7 or above.
• The certificate must be issued by a technical or vocational training institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).

Pathway 3: NVQ Level 6

• A certificate of proficiency in Agriculture, Livestock or Animal Husbandry at NVQ Level 6 or above from a TVEC-accepted institution.
• At least five years of post-qualifying experience in the dairy development field in the Public Service, a Corporation, Statutory Board or Institution, or a reputed private institution.

Pathway 4: NVQ Level 5

• A certificate of proficiency in Agriculture, Livestock or Animal Husbandry at NVQ Level 5 or above from a TVEC-accepted institution.
• At least ten years of post-qualifying experience in the dairy development field in the Public Service, a Corporation, Statutory Board or Institution, or a reputed private institution.

Internal Candidates

Internal applicants must satisfy one of the following requirements:

• Possess the qualifications and experience required under the external recruitment pathways.

OR

• Complete 15 years of satisfactory service in a supervisory category in production, quality or dairy-related work at MILCO, including five years in the Management Assistant – Technological (MA 2-3) Grade II category, as specified in the vacancy notice.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Provincial Manager will support the overall supervision and management of regional dairy operations. Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising milk chilling centre operations.
• Monitoring milk dispatches from chilling centres to factories.
• Supporting personnel management and coordination within the region.
• Assisting the Provincial Manager with regional operational and administrative matters.
• Monitoring dairy collection and related field activities.
• Coordinating operational activities to support efficient milk collection and distribution.
• Supporting the effective management of regional dairy facilities.
• Performing other relevant duties assigned by the organization.
