Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following qualification and experience pathways.

Pathway 1: Technical Qualification

• NDT, HNDE, NDES or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university or institute, relevant to the particular discipline.
• At least four years of post-qualifying experience in the relevant field.
• Experience must include supervisory responsibilities in a government or semi-government organization or a reputed private organization.

OR

Pathway 2: NVQ Qualification

• NVQ Level 5 qualification obtained from a TVEC-approved institution, as appropriate for the respective post.
• At least five years of relevant experience in a government or semi-government organization or a reputed private organization.

Additional Requirement

• Candidates must pass the prescribed trade test.
• Applicants must not be more than 35 years of age.
• All required qualifications and experience must be fulfilled by the application closing date.
• Candidates must be able to produce the relevant certificates when requested.

Key Responsibilities

The Quantity Surveyor will support quantity surveying and cost-related activities associated with construction, civil engineering and maintenance projects. Responsibilities may include:

• Preparing and checking bills of quantities and cost estimates.
• Measuring and assessing quantities of construction and civil engineering work.
• Assisting with project budgeting, cost control and expenditure monitoring.
• Reviewing contractor quotations, bills and payment claims.
• Maintaining quantity surveying records and project cost documentation.
• Supporting the preparation of tender documents and contract-related information.
• Monitoring project costs and reporting variations where applicable.
• Coordinating with engineers, technical officers, contractors and other relevant personnel.
• Performing other duties relevant to the position as assigned by the organization.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of quantity surveying principles and practices.
• Ability to measure construction quantities and prepare cost estimates.
• Understanding of bills of quantities and construction documentation.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Scale: Rs. 117,245 – 5 × Rs. 1,480 – 10 × Rs. 2,145 – Rs. 146,095.
