Shape the Future of Technology Professionals! The Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education (SLIATE) is recruiting Visiting Lecturers for the 2025 Academic Year.

The Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education (SLIATE), operating under the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, is the premier institute for advanced technological education in Sri Lanka. We are currently inviting applications from qualified personnel to serve as Visiting Lecturers for the 2nd Semester of the Academic Year 2025 across our network of Advanced Technological Institutes (ATIs) island-wide.

Priority will be given to visiting lecturers who are willing to conduct their respective subjects in the English medium and contribute to paper setting and paper marking.

Study Programmes (HND Courses)

We are looking for lecturers for the following Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes:

• HNDA: Higher National Diploma in Accountancy

• HNDBA: Higher National Diploma in Business Administration

• HNDBF: Higher National Diploma in Business Finance

• HNDBSE: Higher National Diploma in Building Services Engineering

• HNDE (Civil): Higher National Diploma in Engineering – Civil

• HNDE (Electrical & Electronic): Higher National Diploma in Engineering – Electrical & Electronic

• HNDE (Mechanical): Higher National Diploma in Engineering – Mechanical

• HND in English: Higher National Diploma in English

• HNDFT: Higher National Diploma in Food Technology

• HNDIT: Higher National Diploma in Information Technology

• HNDM: Higher National Diploma in Management

• HNDPM: Higher National Diploma in Project Management

• HNDQS: Higher National Diploma in Quantity Surveying

• HNDT – Agriculture: Higher National Diploma in Technology – Agriculture

• HNDTHM: Higher National Diploma in Tourism & Hospitality Management

Candidate Profile

• Preferred Candidates: Preference will be given to Degree holders in the relevant field or above qualified persons from the Public/Private Sector or the relevant ATI.

• Qualification Note: Applicants are compelled to attach the accreditation of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for all foreign degrees to be considered as equivalent qualifications for selection.

Remuneration (Approved Allowance per Hour)

Payments are made according to the rates approved by the Department of Management Services:

• Rs. 500/= : Maximum 5 years teaching experience without a basic degree.

• Rs. 750/= : Minimum 05 years teaching experience without a basic degree.

• Rs. 750/= : Basic degree in relevant field with less than 05 years experience.

• Rs. 1,250/= : Basic degree in relevant field with more than 05 years experience.

• Rs. 2,000/= : Basic degree + Postgraduate Diploma or Master’s Degree with minimum 5 years experience OR Professionals with minimum 5 years experience (High Ranking Officials).

2. Submit via Post: The duly completed application should be forwarded to the relevant Advanced Technological Institute by Registered Post (Addresses for each ATI are available in the advertisement or website).

3. Submit via Email: A copy of the application should be emailed to visitinglect@sliate.ac.lk.

4. Envelope Marking: The words “Visiting Lecturer Application” should be indicated on the top left-hand corner of the envelope.

5. Channeling: Applicants attached to the Government and Statutory Bodies should forward their applications through the Heads of their Departments.

6. Deadline: Applications must reach the relevant ATI on or before 28th February 2026.
