Qualifications & Experience

• Passed three (03) subjects (except the General Common Test) at the G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) examination.
• NVQ Level 6 equivalent or above qualification, or a recognized professional qualification in the subject area relevant to the post (Translation / Linguistics / Language Studies).
• Successful performance in a written test / examination.
• Prior practical experience in translating corporate, administrative, and legal documents:
  • Sinhala to English and English to Sinhala (for Translator – Sinhala / English).
  • Tamil to English and English to Tamil (for Translator – Tamil / English).

Key Responsibilities

• Translate documents issued by corporate management and documents submitted by various divisions and departments accurately across target languages (Sinhala/English or Tamil/English).
• Ensure strict grammatical, context-specific, and terminology consistency across technical, financial, operational, and administrative reports.
• Assist management with document drafting, linguistic proofreading, and cross-departmental translation support.
• Perform additional duties corresponding to the appointed grade or higher grades as assigned by management from time to time.

Required Skills

• High level of linguistic fluency and translation accuracy in Sinhala/English or Tamil/English.
• Strong proofreading, text editing, and written communication capabilities.
• Sound physical and mental fitness to discharge duties effectively and serve in any part of the island.
• Excellent moral character, integrity, and administrative professionalism.

Salary & Benefits

• Monthly salary scale under Grade B-1: Rs. 112,340 – 5 x 1345 – 10 x 1590 – 134,965.
