Peace Corps Sri Lanka, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education, supports English education initiatives in rural Sri Lankan schools through Peace Corps Volunteers. The organization conducts intensive Pre-Service Training (PST) programs designed to prepare volunteers for teaching, cultural integration, and community engagement.

Job Description
The Technical and Cultural Facilitator (TCF) will coordinate technical training schedules, assist with training logistics, liaise with partner schools, and facilitate cultural and language-related activities for Peace Corps Trainees (PCTs).
The role requires strong organizational abilities, communication skills, and experience in education, training coordination, or administrative support. Candidates should be adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working within rural communities and multicultural environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate technical training schedules and activities
- Liaise with partner schools and local stakeholders
- Support logistics and organization of Pre-Service Training programs
- Facilitate language and cultural learning sessions when required
- Assist Program Managers and Training Specialists with training operations
- Support volunteer integration into local communities
- Organize and monitor training-related administrative activities
- Participate in Training of Trainers (TOT) programs
- Provide constructive feedback and maintain organizational standards
- Ensure training activities align with Peace Corps learning objectives
Duty Station and Work Conditions
- Duty Station: Peace Corps PST Training Site, Horana/Bulathsinhala, Sri Lanka
- Work Hours: 45 hours per week
- Contract Type: Intermittent position limited to 120 workdays per year
- Estimated Start Date: Approximately August 24, 2026
- Approximately 50% local travel required
- Evening, weekend, and holiday work may occasionally be required
- Lodging will be provided during the Pre-Service Training period
- Candidates may need to remain at the PST training site for up to 11 weeks annually
Salary and Benefits
- Bi-weekly Salary: LKR 76,022 – LKR 80,009 (including base salary and allowances)

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in ELT, Teaching English as a Foreign/Second Language, or Education
- Minimum 2 years of experience in event planning, logistics, administration, training, or related fields
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, typing, and internet usage
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel locally
- Ability to adapt to rural working and living environments
- Energetic, motivated, and eager to learn
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of classroom teaching experience
- Teaching credentials or experience within the Sri Lankan public school system
- Experience in teacher training or adult education
- Previous work experience with Peace Corps programs
- Experience working in intercultural environments
- Experience facilitating online teaching or discussion sessions
