Senior Data Engineer – Dialog Axiata PLC
Are you a data enthusiast with a passion for building scalable data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and managing data to enable data-driven decision-making? Dialog Axiata PLC is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Group Analytics and AI division, where you will play a key role in managing enterprise data management platforms and delivering high-quality data to enhance insights and drive business impact.
The Job
- Manage ETL operations on big data platforms (AWS Athena, AWS S3, Snowflake) ensuring high data accuracy and SLA adherence.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data load issues while collaborating with source owners and vendors for technical support.
- Responsible for managing and supporting the company’s data management platform, and training the staff on operational best practices.
- Investigate data structures, understand business requirements to develop SQL-based Data Quality Rules to implement in Data Quality platforms such as Collibra.
- Manage and troubleshoot Data Lineage and perform RCA on data issues.
- Support, maintain, and report the progress of Business Glossaries and Data Dictionaries using the data management platform.
- Develop Tableau data sources and dashboards adhering to industry standards.
- Developments on AWS Lambda to integrate with various APIs to extract and load data.
- Development of stored procedures, pipelines and data extractions in Snowflake.
- Airflow-based ETL developments and configurations to automate third-party DQ job executions.
- Engage in R&D initiatives to stay aligned with industry best practices and latest developments to deliver innovative data solutions.
Entry Requirements
The Person
- BSc Degree in Computer Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Certifications in Linux, Oracle, Data Warehousing, BI Tools, Cloud Platforms, or Machine Learning are advantageous.
- 2 – 4 years in Database management or ETL development and data pipeline engineering using Scala, Java, Python or open-source tools.
- Experience of working with relational databases (RDBMS), Data Warehouses, NoSQL, or big data technologies and strong SQL scripting skills (PL/SQL, T-SQL).
- Strong skills in Tableau dashboard development.
- Linux shell scripting and system administration experience.
- Good understanding of data quality, metadata, data management systems and related concepts.
- Good interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Highly motivated, able to perform tasks with minimal supervision, and capable of meeting deadlines and targets.
- Passionate about researching and learning new technologies to stay ahead of the curve.
