The institute supports rubber cultivation, processing improvements, and knowledge transfer to enhance productivity and sustainability in Sri Lanka’s plantation sector.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Agriculture, or Plantation Management recognized by the UGC
  OR
• NVQ Level 7 in a relevant field
  OR
• NVQ Level 6 + minimum 5 years relevant experience
  OR
• NVQ Level 5 + minimum 10 years relevant experience

Age Limit:

• 22 to 45 years
• Age limit does not apply for internal candidates

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct rubber extension and action research activities
• Provide advisory services to rubber growers and stakeholders
• Transfer new technologies developed by the institute to farmers
• Improve cultivation practices in the smallholder rubber sector
• Conduct training and knowledge-sharing programs
• Coordinate agricultural and non-agricultural support services
• Support development of skills and productivity in plantation workers
• Work under supervision of senior advisory officers

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of agriculture or plantation management
• Field advisory and extension service capability
• Good communication and training skills
• Ability to work with rural communities and farmers
• Basic research and data collection skills
• Team coordination and reporting abilities
• Willingness to work in field environments across Sri Lanka

Salary & Benefits

• Monthly salary: Rs. 64,320 – 113,170 (MA 4 scale)
• Cost of living allowance
