Quantity Surveyor (Civil & MEP) – Vella Corporate (Pvt) Ltd

VELLA is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor (Civil & MEP) to join their Engineering Department in Colombo 07.

Key Responsibilities

• General Quantity Surveying:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.

  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and analyze tender documents.

  • Invite and evaluate sub-contractor and vendor quotations.

  • Conduct value engineering and cost optimization.

  • Measure work progress, prepare interim payment applications, and monitor variations and change orders.

• MEP-Specific:

  • Perform quantity take-offs for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical, and ELV systems.

  • Evaluate material submittals and conduct cost analysis for MEP equipment.

• Civil-Specific:

  • Measure concrete, steel, earthwork, masonry, and finishing works.

  • Conduct rate analysis and monitor structural and finishing work costs.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

• Experience: 3–5 years of experience specifically in civil and MEP construction projects.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Advanced Excel.

  • Experience with CostX, PlanSwift, Primavera, or MS Projects is preferred.

• Core Competencies: Strong knowledge of construction contracts, analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities.
