This role involves handling legal advisory work, supporting court-related matters, drafting legal documents, and ensuring compliance with the RTI Act while supporting the Commission’s regulatory and enforcement functions.

The Right to Information Commission (RTI Commission) is an independent statutory body established under the Right to Information Act No. 12 of 2016. The Commission ensures transparency in governance by enabling citizens’ right to access public information and enforcing compliance among public authorities.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must be qualified Attorneys-at-Law with:
- At least 03 years of active professional experience in legal practice after enrollment in the Supreme Court as an Attorney-at-Law
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 22 years
- Maximum age: 45 years
- Age limit does not apply for internal applicants
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advisory support to the Commission
- Handle court-related legal matters and documentation
- Draft legal opinions, reports, and regulatory documents
- Ensure compliance with the Right to Information Act
- Support investigations and hearings conducted by the Commission
- Assist in legal interpretation of RTI-related matters
- Coordinate with government institutions on legal issues
- Maintain legal records and documentation
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan legal system and procedures
- Experience in court practice and legal drafting
- Excellent analytical and interpretation skills
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to work independently and handle sensitive legal matters
- Good understanding of administrative and regulatory law
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality
Salary & Benefits
- Salary Scale: MM 1-1 (2025) – Rs. 91,690 – 168,240
