About the Role: IT Technician

As an IT Technician at Sumathi Holdings, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the digital heartbeat of our operations. Your primary focus will be on “End User Devices”—ensuring that every employee has a working PC, laptop, and printer to do their job effectively.

This is a versatile role that combines hardware maintenance, software configuration, and basic network troubleshooting. You will be the go-to person for technical support, ensuring smooth operations across the assigned location.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily duties will involve a mix of deployment, maintenance, and support tasks:

• Device Management: You will be responsible for building, configuring, and deploying End User Devices (PCs, Laptops, Tablets, etc.) to staff members, ensuring they are set up correctly from day one.

• Troubleshooting & Support: Perform troubleshooting activities and attend to support tasks related to End User Devices such as PCs, laptops, and printers. Your goal is to ensure smooth operation and minimize downtime for users.

• Hardware Lifecycle: You will manage the entire lifecycle of IT assets. This includes installing, modifying, and disposing of devices while performing regular upgrades and preventive maintenance to extend the life of our equipment.

• Warranty Management: Govern hardware warranty management, ensuring that faulty equipment covered by warranty is repaired or replaced efficiently by vendors.

• Network & Security: You will carry out basic CCTV and network installation, configuration, and troubleshooting in line with company standards. This ensures both connectivity and physical security are maintained.

• System Health: Conduct comprehensive PC health checkups to identify potential issues before they cause failures.

• Knowledge Maintenance: Technology changes fast. You are expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge on products, solutions, and technology-related areas to provide the best support possible.

Candidate Profile: Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a reliable individual with a strong technical aptitude. Preference will be given to local candidates.

Location Requirement:

• Candidates residing in Dambulla or surrounding areas are strictly preferred for this position.

Educational Qualifications:

• A Basic Diploma or Certification in computer hardware installation and troubleshooting is required.

Experience:

• Experienced Professionals: A minimum of 1 year of experience in handling IT devices such as Laptops, PCs, and printers is preferred.

• School Leavers: We are also open to School Leavers with foundational knowledge of End-User Devices. If you have the passion and the basic skills, we are willing to consider you.
