Hemas Hospitals is looking for an energetic and safety-focused Health & Safety Officer to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining health, safety, fire safety, and emergency preparedness standards within the hospital environment.

Job Profile

• Ensure compliance with hospital health, safety, fire safety, and regulatory requirements through effective implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Develop, implement, and supervise fire safety plans, emergency response procedures, and evacuation plans.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, fire risk assessments, and workplace audits while implementing appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
• Monitor, maintain, and ensure all fire and life safety equipment is functional, properly positioned, and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
• Coordinate fire drills, safety training, and awareness programs while working closely with external fire authorities and emergency services.
• Investigate workplace incidents and safety concerns, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Promote a strong safety culture across clinical and non-clinical teams.

Candidate Profile

• Diploma in Health & Safety, Engineering & Fire Safety, or a PG Diploma in Fire Safety or Environmental Management from a recognized university/institution or equivalent qualification.
• Good knowledge of current fire suppression and firefighting techniques, including related equipment, fire record systems, communication equipment, and fire reporting procedures.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices involved in emergency medical services will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in health and safety, quality management systems in a hospital environment, or equivalent.
• Excellent IT skills.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Good demonstration and communication skills.
• Energetic and proactive approach to workplace safety.
