Company Overview

The State Pharmaceuticals Corporation of Sri Lanka (SPC) is the sole importer of pharmaceuticals and medical devices for government hospitals and the leading importer and distributor of pharmaceuticals for the private healthcare sector in Sri Lanka. SPC plays a vital role in ensuring the availability of quality medicines and healthcare products across the country.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess one of the following qualifications:

Option 1

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Business Administration, Commerce, or another relevant discipline recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
• Postgraduate Degree (Master’s) in a relevant field or Associate Membership of a recognized Professional Chartered Institute.
• Minimum of 15 years of managerial experience, including 3 years at Senior Manager level with a proven track record in a Corporation, Statutory Board, Institution, or a reputed mercantile establishment after obtaining the first degree.

OR

Option 2

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Business Administration, Commerce, or another relevant discipline recognized by the UGC.
• PhD in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience at Senior Manager level with a proven track record in a Corporation, Statutory Board, Institution, or a reputed mercantile establishment after obtaining the first degree.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Should be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the post.
• Must possess excellent moral character.
• Age should be not less than 35 years and not more than 55 years (upper age limit is not applicable to internal candidates).

• Provide strategic leadership and operational direction for the Corporation.
• Oversee the implementation of organizational policies and corporate strategies.
• Ensure efficient management of pharmaceutical procurement and distribution operations.
• Lead senior management teams to achieve organizational objectives.
• Drive operational excellence, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage organizational resources to improve efficiency and service delivery.
• Strengthen stakeholder relationships with government agencies and healthcare institutions.
• Support the Board of Directors in achieving the Corporation’s long-term strategic goals.
