Job Overview
The Right to Information Commission of Sri Lanka is inviting applications for the position of Finance Officer. This role is responsible for managing financial operations, budgeting, accounting procedures, and financial reporting of the Commission in accordance with government financial regulations and Management Services Department guidelines.

The Right to Information Commission (RTI Commission) is an independent statutory body established under the Right to Information Act No. 12 of 2016. The Commission ensures transparency and accountability in public institutions by implementing and monitoring the Right to Information framework in Sri Lanka.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- A Degree in Accountancy or Commerce from a recognized university
OR - Passed intermediate level of a recognized professional accounting body (such as CIMA, ACCA, CMA, SLICA or equivalent)
OR - Higher National Diploma in Accountancy (HNDA) or Commerce (HNDC) with at least 5 years of relevant experience in a government or recognized institution
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 22 years
- Maximum age: 45 years
- Age limit not applicable for internal applicants
Key Responsibilities
- Manage financial operations of the Commission
- Prepare budgets, financial statements, and expenditure reports
- Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation
- Monitor project and institutional financial performance
- Ensure compliance with government financial regulations
- Handle payment processing, vouchers, and financial verification
- Support audit preparation and audit queries
- Coordinate with internal departments on financial planning
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting and financial management principles
- Proficiency in financial reporting and budgeting
- Experience with government financial procedures
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation
- Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software
- Strong organizational and coordination abilities
Salary & Benefits
- Salary Scale: JM 1-1 (2025) – Rs. 72,650 – 122,970
