Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting operations of the company.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and regulatory submissions.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Develop and implement long-term financial strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
• Monitor and manage company cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide strategic insights to support decision-making.
• Coordinate with auditors, regulatory authorities, banks, and external stakeholders.
• Strengthen internal controls, financial systems, and risk management practices.
• Liaise with the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL), actuaries, company secretary, external auditors, and internal audit teams.
• Drive cost optimization initiatives and improve operational efficiencies.
• Collaborate with departmental heads in preparing and monitoring budgets.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop finance team members.
• Support the CEO and senior management with accurate financial information and recommendations.
• Oversee investment-related activities and capital management functions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized university.
• Professional qualification such as CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial position within the finance sector.
• Experience in the insurance industry will be a distinct advantage.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
