Job Overview

Haycarb PLC, a member of the Hayleys Group and the world’s largest manufacturer of coconut shell-based activated carbon, is seeking a qualified Executive – Quality Control for its Madampe Facility. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality through laboratory testing, maintaining quality management systems, and supporting continuous improvement in laboratory operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (4-year) in Science with Chemistry as the main subject from a recognized institution, or
• Master’s Degree (MSc or MPhil) in a Chemistry-related field together with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Chemistry as the main subject.
• Experience in laboratory operations or the manufacturing sector will be a distinct advantage.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory operations and people management.
• Good computer literacy.
• Good understanding of quality and safety standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure final product quality meets required specifications and approve compliant products.
• Maintain laboratory equipment in proper working condition to achieve optimum performance.
• Conduct laboratory tests in accordance with standard test procedures (STPs) and special methods.
• Supervise laboratory housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Implement and sustain 5S practices to improve efficiency and workplace safety.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) standards.
• Apply appropriate safety measures to prevent laboratory-related accidents.
• Coordinate the dispatch of final products according to order specifications without delays.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of customer sample analyses.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management.
