Job Description

Driver – National Secretariat for Elders

Applications are invited from qualified citizens of Sri Lanka for the post of Driver at the Kataragama Elders Home under the National Secretariat for Elders.

Educational Qualifications & Proficiency:

• Education: Must have passed six (06) subjects in two sittings with at least two (02) credit passes at the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination.

• Proficiency: * Must possess a valid Driving License to drive Heavy Vehicles issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic.

  • Must have at least three (03) years of driving experience after obtaining the Driving License.

Age Limit & General Conditions:

• Age Limit: Between 18 years and 45 years.

• General Conditions: * Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka with an excellent moral character.

  • Must be physically and mentally fit to discharge the duties entrusted to the post.

  • Appointees are subject to the Protection of Rights of Elders Act No. 09 of 2000 and its amendments.

Salary & Nature of Appointment:

• Nature of Appointment: Contract basis with entitlement for Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) and Employees’ Trust Fund (ETF). There is a possibility of annual extensions based on performance and requirement.

• Monthly Salary: Rs. 38,387 + Cost of Living Allowance. (As per Management Services Circular No. 01/2025).

Method of Recruitment:

• Selection will be based on a Trade Test and a structured interview conducted by a Board of Interviewers.
