Qualifications & Experience

External Candidates:

• A 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Agriculture with First Class or Second Class Upper Division
• PhD in a relevant discipline
• Minimum 16 years of research experience at managerial level
• At least 8 years post-PhD experience
• Minimum 2 years in senior managerial capacity
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary research teams

Internal Candidates:

• PhD in relevant discipline
• Minimum 4 years service as Head of Department / Principal Research Officer / Principal Advisory Officer
• Proven leadership in managing research teams and resources

Age Limit

• 35 to 50 years for external candidates
• No upper age limit for internal candidates

Key Responsibilities

• Lead national-level rubber research and development programs
• Plan, implement, and monitor technology development projects
• Manage multidisciplinary research teams and scientific staff
• Oversee efficient use of human and financial resources
• Guide technology transfer to stakeholders in the rubber industry
• Ensure innovation in rubber cultivation and processing technologies
• Coordinate research strategy with national agricultural development goals

Required Skills

• Strong leadership in scientific research environments
• Advanced knowledge in agriculture, science, or rubber technology
• Experience in managing large-scale research projects
• Strategic planning and program management skills
• Strong communication and scientific reporting ability
• Resource management and team leadership capabilities
• Ability to coordinate with national and international research bodies

Salary & Benefits

• Monthly salary scale: Rs. 152,500 – 214,000
• Cost of living allowance and additional benefits
• Transport or official vehicle facility

• EPF (15% employer / 10% employee) and ETF (3% employer)
