Company Inspector – Department of Registrar of Companies

The Department of Registrar of Companies, under the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development, is recruiting qualified officers for the post of Company Inspector on a limited basis.

Eligibility Requirements

This recruitment is limited to officers currently serving in the Department of the Registrar of Companies who meet the following criteria:

• Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate from a university recognized by the UGC with five (05) years of active and satisfactory service in the Department at the MN-02 salary scale or above.

  • OR be an officer in the MN-02 salary scale or above who has passed the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination with ten (10) years of active and satisfactory service, including five (05) years in the Department of the Registrar of Companies.

• Physical Fitness: Must possess the physical and mental fitness to perform duties in any part of Sri Lanka.

• Moral Character: Must have an excellent moral character.

• Service Record: Must have completed a period of active and satisfactory service during the five (05) years immediately preceding the date of consideration.

Terms of Employment

• Nature of Post: The position is permanent and pensionable.

• Salary Scale: Rs. 53,060 – 10 x 800 – 11 x 1,190 – 10 x 1,320 – 5 x 1,350 – 94,100/- (Monthly scale as per Public Administration Circular No. 10/2025).

• Probation: Appointed candidates will be subject to a probationary period of one (01) year.

• Efficiency Bar: Officers must pass the first efficiency bar examination within three (03) years of recruitment.

Selection Process

Candidates will be recruited based on the highest merit obtained at an interview. The marking scheme includes:

• Educational Qualifications: Up to 30 marks (e.g., Bachelor of Laws, other degrees, or diplomas).

• Professional Qualifications: Up to 10 marks for service in specific divisions of the Department.

• Experience: Up to 20 marks.

• Language Proficiency: Up to 20 marks for English language certifications.

• IT Knowledge: Up to 15 marks for relevant IT degrees or certificate courses.
