Goodhope is part of Carson Cumberbatch PLC, a Sri Lankan conglomerate with regionalized business interests. Goodhope Asia Holdings Ltd, registered in Singapore, is primarily a palm oil producer engaged in palm plantations and edible oils and fats with operations based in South East Asia.

Position: Civil Engineer (Indonesia Plantations based)

Job Profile & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Infrastructure: Overall responsibility for infrastructure and building maintenance across all plantation locations.

• Cost Control: Preparation of standard Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, measurement of work, and certification of contractor payments while ensuring cost control and budget compliance.

• Site Inspection: Inspect project sites and monitor progress to ensure conformity with approved design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

• Planning: Plan, develop, and implement annual infrastructure development and maintenance programs, covering short, medium, and long-term initiatives.

• Contractor Management: For outsourced work, evaluate, recommend, and appoint suitable contractors for management approval, and ensure contractor performance aligns with company specifications and standards.

• Technical Studies: Conduct technical studies and evaluations to introduce new and innovative construction and maintenance methodologies, including sourcing alternative materials by assessing suitability, durability, adaptability, and quality with reference to varying terrains and soil conditions.

• Leadership: Build, lead, and maintain a competent, motivated, and high-performing team to support infrastructure and maintenance objectives.

• Roads: Engineering experience in relation to roads construction and maintenance is an added advantage.

Candidate Prerequisites

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with relevant experience in infrastructure development, building construction, and maintenance.

• Age Limit: Between 35 – 45 years.

• Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, BOQs, cost estimation, and contract administration.

• Experience: Proven experience in project planning, site supervision, quality control, and safety management.

• Asset Management: Exposure to maintenance planning and lifecycle management of buildings and infrastructure.

• Mobility: Willingness to travel frequently and work across multiple plantation or project locations.
