Position Details

The Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic leadership to the Colombo Stock Exchange, driving sustainable growth, market development, innovation, strong governance, and long-term value creation for stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and a professional qualification from a recognized educational institute.
• A Master’s degree will be an advantage.
• Proven track record of executive leadership in the financial services industry, with prior exposure to:
  • Capital markets
  • Investment banking
  • Related financial sectors
• Deep understanding of global financial markets, regulatory frameworks, and emerging trends.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and navigate complex environments.
• Passion for driving and implementing transformative initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute visionary strategies to establish Sri Lanka as an emerging equity market and enhance the CSE’s market position and sustainable growth.
• Foster strong relationships with market participants, regulatory bodies, government entities, and other key stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and uphold high standards of governance and transparency.
• Develop a diverse and innovative product portfolio that meets evolving stakeholder needs and creates additional revenue streams.
• Position the CSE as a leading venue for capital raising.
• Embrace technological advancements and innovative solutions to modernize trading and post-trade platforms.
• Enhance market efficiency and risk management while improving the overall investor experience.
• Establish the CSE as a high-performing entity with strong profitability and efficient capital use for sustainable growth and long-term success.
