Job Description

Lead Financial Operations at a State Corporation! Sri Lanka State Trading (General) Corporation Ltd is hiring an Assistant General Manager (Finance).

Sri Lanka State Trading (General) Corporation Ltd (STC) is seeking a result-oriented and self-motivated individual with exceptional integrity to join our senior management team as the Assistant General Manager (Finance) – HM 1-1.

This is a prestigious opportunity for a finance professional to oversee the financial strategy of a major government corporation, offering a highly competitive remuneration package.

Remuneration Package

The selected candidate will receive a comprehensive remuneration package in accordance with government circulars (effective 01.01.2026):

• Basic Salary: Rs. 123,019/- (As per DMS Circular No: 01/2025).

• Cost of Living Allowance: Rs. 17,800/-.

• Transport Allowance: Rs. 50,000/- (As per PED Circular No: 01/2015(i)).

• Professional Allowance: Rs. 25,000/- (As per DMS Circular No: 01/2025).

• Other Allowances:

  • Fuel Allowance: As per PED Circular No: 01/2015 (ii).

  • Telephone Allowance: As per PED Circular No: 02/2022.

Qualifications & Experience

External Candidates (1 or 2 below):

1. Academic + Professional + Experience:

   • A Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resource, Commerce, Accountancy, or Finance recognized by the U.G.C..

   • WITH A Postgraduate Degree qualification in the relevant field or Associate Membership of a recognized professional Chartered Institute relevant to the subject area.

   • AND Minimum of 13 years’ experience at a “Managerial Level” in a Corporation, Statutory Board/Institution, or a reputed private institution.

2. Professional + Experience:

   • Full Membership of a recognized professional Chartered Institution in a related field to the post.

   • AND Minimum of 13 years’ experience at a “Managerial Level” in a Corporation, Statutory Board/Institution, or a reputed private institution.

Internal Candidates (1 or 2 below):

1. Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates above.

2. Completion of minimum five (5) years satisfactory service in a post in the Manager Category (MM-1) Grade I, in the subject area relevant to the post.

General Requirements

• Age Limit: Should be not less than 35 years and not more than 55 years (The upper age limit will not apply to internal candidates).

• Citizenship: Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.

• Fitness: Should be physically and mentally fit to discharge the duties of the post well and to serve in any part of the island.

• Character: Should be of excellent moral character.
