Job Description

The National Child Protection Authority is seeking qualified individuals to fill six vacancies for the position of Assistant Counselor.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must satisfy the following educational requirements:

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Health Promotion, Education in Special Needs, Speech and Hearing Sciences, or Drama and Theater recognized by the University Grants Commission.

• Preferred Qualification: A Diploma in Counseling recognized by the University Grants Commission or the Tertiary/Vocational Education Commission will be considered an added advantage.

Age Limit

• Applicants must be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years of age.

• The upper age limit will not apply to internal candidates.

Salary Scale

• Salary Code: MA 3 – 01/2016.

• Scale: Rs. (32,200 – 10 x 445 – 11 x 660 – 10 x 730 – 5 x 950 – 54,960).

• Initial Salary: Rs. 32,200/- (as at 01.01.2020).

General Conditions

• Every applicant should be a citizen of Sri Lanka and be of excellent moral character.

• Candidates must be physically and mentally fit to discharge duties and serve in any part of the island.

• Recruitment will be based on the results of a written competitive examination and/or a structured interview.

• Government-approved cost of living allowances will be provided in addition to the basic salary.
