Job Description

The National Child Protection Authority is seeking a qualified individual for the post of Account Officer to be based in Colombo.

Qualifications & Experience

External Candidates (Should satisfy 1 or 2 below):

• Option 1: A Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Commerce, or Management recognized by the University Grants Commission (U.G.C.) with at least one (01) year of post-qualifying experience in the relevant field.

• Option 2: Having passed the Intermediate Examination of a recognized professional Chartered Institute relevant to the subject area of the post with at least one (01) year of post-qualifying experience in the relevant field.

Internal Candidates (Should satisfy 1, 2, or 3 below):

• 1. Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates above.

• 2. Completion of a minimum of five (05) years of satisfactory service in a post in the “Associate Officer Category” (MA3) in a subject area relevant to the post.

• 3. Completion of a minimum of five (05) years of satisfactory service in a post of the “Management Assistant – Technological” (MA2-2) Grade II in a subject area relevant to the post.

Age Limit

• Applicants should be not less than 22 years and not more than 45 years.

• The upper age limit will not apply to internal candidates.

Salary Scale

• Salary Code: JM 1-1 – 01/2016.

• Scale: Rs. (42,600 – 10 x 755 – 18 x 1,135 – 70,580).

• Initial Salary (as at 01.01.2020): Rs. 42,600/-.

General Conditions

• Candidates must be citizens of Sri Lanka of excellent moral character.

• Applicants must be physically and mentally fit to serve in any part of the island.

• Recruitment will be based on the results of a written competitive examination and/or a structured interview.
