Qualifications & Experience

External Applicants

Applicants should satisfy one of the following qualification and experience combinations:

• A Degree in Agriculture, Plantation Management or Commerce from a recognized university with a minimum of 03 years’ experience in field activities of an Agricultural Project or Estate in a Public, Corporate or Private Sector enterprise; OR
• G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination and a Diploma in Agriculture, Plantation Management or Commerce from a recognized institute with a minimum of 08 years’ experience in field activities of an Agricultural Project or Estate in a Public, Corporate or Private Sector enterprise; OR
• A Diploma in Agriculture, Plantation Management or Commerce from a recognized institute with at least 10 years’ experience in field activities of an Agricultural Project or Estate in a Public, Corporate or Private Sector enterprise.

Applicants should also have:

• Good communication skills in Sinhala and English.
• Good interpersonal relationship skills.

Internal Applicants

Internal candidates should possess:

• A Diploma in Agriculture, Plantation Management or Commerce from a recognized institute.
• At least 08 years’ experience in field activities.
• Good communication skills in Sinhala and English.
• Good interpersonal relationship skills.

Key Responsibilities

The vacancy notice does not provide a detailed list of specific duties for the Assistant Superintendent position.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Scale: JM 1-1 – Department of Management Services Circular No. 01/2025

• Salary Scale: Rs. 72,650 – 1,360 × 10 – 2,040 × 18 – Rs. 122,970/-
• Salary effective from 01 January 2026: Rs. 65,633/- with other approved allowances
• Revised salary scale effective from 01 January 2027: Up to Rs. 122,970/-
• Employment Benefits: EPF and ETF
