Job Overview

The National Science Foundation is inviting applications for the position of Driver. Qualifications & Experience

External Candidates

Applicants should possess:

• Passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six (06) subjects with at least two (02) credit passes in not more than two sittings

AND

• A valid heavy vehicle driving license issued by the Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic

AND

• Minimum three (03) years of experience driving heavy vehicles in a reputed establishment after obtaining the driving license

Internal Candidates

Applicants should possess:

• A valid heavy vehicle driving license issued by the Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic

AND

• Minimum three (03) years of experience driving heavy vehicles in a reputed establishment after obtaining the driving license

AND

• Completion of minimum five (05) years satisfactory service in a post under the Primary Semi-skilled (PL 2) or Primary Unskilled (PL 1) category

Additional Requirements

• Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka
• Should be physically and mentally fit
• Willingness to serve in any part of Sri Lanka

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport staff, officials, and materials as assigned
• Operate heavy vehicles in compliance with road safety regulations
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and basic upkeep
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues
• Ensure timely transportation and delivery duties
• Maintain vehicle logbooks and transport records
• Support organizational transportation requirements efficiently
